Learn about Anxiety, what it looks like, and how to manage it.
It is important to understand anxiety in order to address it effectively. Anxiety creeps up on us and can leave us feeling hopeless, alone, useless and helpless. Anxiety often attacks us on our insecurities and so, we build fears in our hearts and minds that are excessive and radical.
We adopt these fears as truth and create cognitive distortions which wall us in. These distortions can leave us feeling utterly powerless.
Therapy helps to unpack and uncover the underlying causes for your fears and worries and to develop strategies to cope and problem-solve.
As a part of this process, one would identify the negative thoughts and challenge them, and develop new, realistic thoughts to replace them.
To manage anxiety we need to actively battle against the lies we are believing and put preventative strategies in place so that we are able to identify our pitfalls and reinforce those areas.
